Overview

Lisa Hatton Harrington joined Dovel & Luner following a successful career as a general counsel / chief legal officer.  Since 2000, Lisa has worked for both global public companies and privately held start-ups in a variety of industries.  

As a native Southern Californian, Lisa attended UCLA (B.A., cum laude) and received her J.D. from USC Gould School of Law.  After law school, Lisa worked for seven years as a litigator in boutique law firms before transitioning to in-house for one of her clients.   

Lisa has held General Counsel positions at ASICS Americas, Surf Airlines, NBCUniversal / Comcast’s digital division (including Fandango), and Unum Group’s Western division.  Lisa was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at ChromaDex, a publicly traded bioscience company.  Lisa was Special Counsel at a large global law firm, acting as outside general counsel.

Lisa was most recently Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Viant Technology, a publicly traded advertising software company.  Lisa has held roles as Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, and Head of Risk Management, and her experience includes internal audit, ESG (environmental, social and governance), and procurement.

Lisa uses her risk management skills serving on non-profit and for-profit boards.  She is an independent board director for Iron Horse Acquisitions and Slam Corp.  Lisa currently serves on the boards of the USC Gould School of Law Alumni Association and the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel.  She previously served as an Executive Board Director and Secretary of the Association of Corporate Counsel, and as a Board member for the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. 

Lisa was a 2021 General Counsel of the Year Award Nominee, Public Company category, Orange County Business Journal, and a 2022 Los Angeles Times In-House Counsel Leadership Award Nominee.

Personal Facts

  • Lisa’s great grandmother was one of the founders of the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts.
  • Lisa is a 5th generation native Californian.
  • She has two wonderful daughters in college and one very fat cat.
