On the morning of January 7th, 2025, the Palisades Fire ignited near the Skull Rock Trailhead, located along the Temescal Ridge Trail in Topanga State Park. The fire spread through the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles County and quickly decimated thousands of acres. As the fire continues to burn, it has already become one of the most devastating fires in California history. It has killed over five people, destroyed thousands of homes, and forced the evacuation of thousands of residents.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
